The Overture Center

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

JSD provided professional surveying services from design through construction for the new 385,000 square-foot Overture Center, a $205 million project located on Block 65 in downtown Madison. The high-profile project is a world-class facility for the performing arts. Phase I of the project consisted of the construction for the new Overture Hall performing arts center, rehearsal rooms and circulation space. Phase II consisted of renovation of the Oscar Mayer Theater, Isthmus Theater, and construction of the new Madison Arts Center.

The project contains the Overture Hall, the intimate Playhouse, three black box multipurpose spaces, the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, meeting rooms, four art galleries, a soaring glass lobby, and the Capitol Theater. Work was performed for Flad & Associates, Inc. Awards: The project was selected by Real Estate & Construction Review - Wisconsin Edition 2007 - for one of the 50 Most Unique New Construction or Renovation Projects. The project was given the The Daily Reporter's Top Projects Award, (Wisconsin's Construction, Law and Public Record Authority Since 1897)
