Dane County Boys and Girls Club

Location: Fitchburg, Wisconsin

The new development will include the 21,200 square-foot Dane County Boys and Girls Club building, athletic fields, and accompanying streets and utilities to support the development. JSD worked with Dane County officials to determine feasibility of the wet detention facility. A dry detention facility with rain garden forbays was designed to meet Dane County requirements. JSD professional services included an existing conditions map, preliminary platting, final platting, preliminary opinion of cost, roadway infrastructure design, utility design, WDNR permitting, construction drawings, erosion control and grading plans, and record drawings. JSD also provided a stormwater management plan, which addressed peak runoff, suspended solids reduction, grease and oil treatment, and hydraulic modeling. The total development is 17.7-acres in size and will be built in three phases. The site utilizes numerous grassed drainage swales to convey stormwater throughout the development and rain gardens to satisfy onsite infiltration requirements. A Dane County drainage easement had been set aside for the development but was found to be too small for a requested wet pond. Work was performed for The Ellefson Companies.
