The new Marshfield $48M critical care hospital located in Neillsville, Wisconsin is now under construction and nearing completion by year end of 2020.
JSD provided professional environmental, survey, civil engineering and landscape architectural services for the site development of this critical care access hospital. Located on a rural 40+ acre site just west of Neillsville, JSD supported Memorial Medical Center and Marshfield Clinic's partnership in designing, permitting and preparing the site for construction.
Pre-development services included off-site traffic improvement coordination, public water and sanitary main extension design, approvals and permitting, environmental services including wetland permitting through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the United States Army Corps of Engineers in gaining critical site access to the site through wetlands and preparations for construction in proximity to the Black River.
JSD coordinated with a pre-selected contractor and the project team worked directly and collaborated for design development and an integrated project delivery for construction documentation. Site engineering included securing access to the site, managing significant graded slopes, avoidance of environmentally sensitive site areas and mitigating highly variable soil conditions of a previously undeveloped agricultural site.
