Burning Bush Trails Park

JSD led the design and renovation of Burning Bush Trails Park for the River Trails Park District. This included public participation, concept plan development, final master plan, as well as authoring the successful OSLAD Grant for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The Park District was awarded the OSLAD grant for 2019 and JSD prepared construction and bidding documents, as well as performed construction observation and contract administration services. The redeveloped park serves all age groups and includes renovated ballfields, play equipment for ages 2-12, including a 30-foot tall play tower, pollinator garden, pickleball, tennis, and futsal courts, woodland walk, shelters, teen area with hammocks and ping pong, basketball court, and roller hockey. The “soft opening” occurred the first week of December 2020.
